Pamella “Kenille” Hurst was born on May 9, 1964 to Earl and Eunice Tatum in Hartsfield, Georgia, where she spent her childhood with her two sisters, Sheila and Robin. She married her husband, David Hurst, when she was 18 years old, but they never strayed too far away from family. Living in Norman Park and Scooterville for periods of time, Kenille and David had a happy 41-year marriage before he passed in March 2024. They had the joy of raising two amazing children, Candace and Mark. The Hursts endured the life-long tragedy of burying their son, Matthew, Candace’s twin, who was born stillborn.
Kenille became an LPN and worked as a nurse until she retired in 2014 to help look after her grandchild. She now has two grandchildren, Logan and Anslee, and she loves visiting with them. A very active member of Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church, Kenille loved to serve in the children’s church. She loves gospel music, in particular Elvis’s gospel records. Kenille also loved to garden and do yard work, and she can still be found just sitting outside enjoying nature. She is an unabashed lover of Wal-Mart and she admits that one of her favorite activities is sleeping.
Kenille enjoys the plethora of group activities at Legacy Village. She finds joy in serving other residents and chatting with them. She is loved and adored by all the staff at Park Regency.
